Divisional Meetings and Conventions

Our Division, LI North, holds monthly dinner meetings, which are hosted by a different club each month. Each club in the division is requested to send representatives to these meetings at which Division policies and projects are discussed and voted on. Club presidents and secretaries attend each of these meetings and all other members are welcome.

During the year, the NY District of Kiwanis holds 2 conventions: Mid-Winter Conference in March and the District Convention in August. In addition, Kiwanis International conducts an International Convention in June. At each of these conventions, delegates serve as the organization’s official legislative body and they alone institute policy and procedure changes.

All clubs are encouraged to send delegates to conventions and to help them defray the cost of such attendance. Delegates are elected by the Club membership.

(It has been the practice of the Kiwanis Club of North Shore to help offset delegate-only expenses for the cost of registration, travel, and accommodations at special prices. These expenditures are only as annually approved by the Board of Directors and are part of our Administrative Budget. No funds for community service are used for such expenses.)
